Pastor Jon Bailey
I started a vocation in ministry to be with people. I love to hear where God is working in the lives of others--and God is working in everyone's life.
My passions are listening, helping, and serving. Where I feel closest to God is out in nature with a early morning sunrise or on a crisp fall day crunching leaves as I go for a walk. I fancy myself as a avid woodworker who makes fine furniture, but mostly I just carve larger pieces of wood into more interesting smaller pieces of wood.

When did I come to PC UMC?
In the middle of April, 2015 I was encouraged by a friend to apply to be on staff at Prairie City UMC. Out of semi-retirement I eagerly, and must admit nervously, began my career at PCUMC!
What does the perfect church/important ministry look
like to me?
To me, there really is no perfect church. We are all human
and that’s why we gather in our communities to worship
together like families. We follow/apply the teachings of
Jesus to our daily lives. The members are welcoming, work
well together and have a genuine love for each other. The
pastor engages, teaches and encourages everyone to live a
spiritual life and to serve God and their community in their
own ways and according to their own abilities.
My passion in life:
I enjoy sewing and used to make a lot of my own
clothes. My Mom and Grandmother were both awesome
seamstresses; this is a way to honor them. The sense of accomplishment is always amazing.
